COVID-19 health advisor: Here to help and learn
Reducing health illiteracy, misinformation and panic through embodied AI.
Some of those most vulnerable to contracting COVID-19 are people with low levels of health literacy. When you don’t understand the details, misinformation quickly spreads (meaning panic spreads) and you can make bad decisions that impact your health and the safety of those around you.
Nearly half of all Europeans have a “problematic” or worse level of health literacy. Only 12% of people in the U.S. have “proficient” health literacy; and 59% of Australians suffer from inadequate knowledge around their health.
So, we've brought a new digital human into the world, Sophie. She's tasked with educating people on Coronavirus as a free public health advisor – updating them on the latest news and guidance, while providing real-time advice on how to stay safe, based on trusted sources of information.
We don’t have all the answers, but we’ve made a start by connecting to safe data sources like CDC and WHO. We are keen to listen and learn what’s important so we can continue training Sophie to be relevant in this time. We invite you to ask her questions that are important to you and if she doesn’t know the answer, she will let us know for future training.
